Welcome...

Barb and Dave

The rustically elegant home of Barb and Dave Malmquist, Casa Tierra (Earth House), recalls haciendas of old Mexico. The all-adobe home features over fifty arches and includes entryways with vaulted brick ceilings and beautiful interior arches and courtyards with fountains. Each of the sun-baked adobe bricks was left exposed so the natural color and texture can be appreciated. Hand-made ceramic lights are found throughout the inn. The viga and latilla ceilings, brick floors and brightly patterned Talavera tile throughout the home further enhance the feel of Mexico.
Casa Tierra is located on five acres of beautiful lush Sonoran desert thirty minutes from downtown Tucson. As you drive over Gate’s Pass through Tucson Mountain Park and The Saguaro National Park West you enter an area known for its magnificent Saguaro cacti and vivid sunsets. Every direction provides spectacular mountain views. Abundant wildlife and native vegetation provide a perfect backdrop for our adobe hacienda home. Come relax with us in the quiet of the desert where the voices of coyotes and birds are heard, along with the beauty and tranquility of our private courtyards and fountains.
We serve a full three course gourmet vegetarian breakfast, silver service in the formal dining room overlooking the lush Sonoran desert, on the beautiful portal over looking the central courtyard, or in the privacy of your patio. (We are meatless but do use eggs and cheese.)
